This question was also asked by our design engineer Markus Edeling, M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, <\/strong>who took the opportunity to find the answers himself during a week-long stay on site.<\/p>\n

TH-Silesia Sp. z o.o. is based in Gliwice <\/strong>(formerly Gleiwitz) in Upper Silesia, Poland, \u2013 a traditional industrial location that today forms the design centre for underground track expansion in tunnelling and mining <\/strong>within our group of companies as well as other structures from general steel construction.<\/p>\n

Among other things, precise construction drawings for complex shaft and tunnel construction projects<\/strong>, such as sophisticated junctions made from TH profiles, are produced in Gliwice. The development of solar carports is also part of TH-Silesia\u2019s portfolio. Some of the successfully completed designs are also on display there as 3D print models <\/strong>\u2013 a real eye-catcher for visitors.<\/p>\n

During his stay, Markus had the opportunity to meet the three key contacts at TH-Silesia in person:<\/p>\n

\u0141ukasz Jaszczyk <\/strong>\u2013 Dr.-Ing. Mechanical Engineering, Managing Director and CEO. <\/strong>Together with the design team, he is responsible for the technical implementation of our projects.<\/p>\n

Marek Uszko <\/strong>\u2013 Sales Manager and Member of the Management Board<\/strong>. He was the director of a Polish mine and chairman of one of Europe’s largest coal companies. He brings extensive expertise in mining to the table. Marek supports customer service and project management.<\/p>\n

Marek Srokocz <\/strong>\u2013 trained welder with further qualifications in CAD design. <\/strong>His practical experience in manufacturing flows directly into the planning process \u2013 a real advantage when it comes to implementing technical details.<\/p>\n

Practical experience for our design projects<\/strong><\/p>\n

Markus looks back on an intensive and informative week:<\/p>\n

“The most exciting part for me was designing a shaft section that had to be supported with steel profiles. Starting with a simple customer sketch and an as-built survey plan, we first modelled the shaft contour in the 3D-CAD program Inventor and then incorporated the profiles with a precise fit. This way of working was particularly instructive for me.”<\/em><\/p>\n

There was also plenty of opportunity for collegial exchange:<\/p>\n

“I was given a very warm welcome, was able to ask questions at any time and really appreciated the open and helpful atmosphere within the team.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Markus returns with new ideas and is looking forward to incorporating the impressions he has gained into his daily work at Bochumer Eisenh\u00fctte.<\/p>\n

“I am grateful for the insights and would love to return to Gliwice at any time.”<\/em><\/p>\n

More than just design: trade & cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to design work, TH-Silesia <\/strong>also handles trade jobs <\/strong>within our group of companies. Typical traded goods are special components for mining<\/strong>, such as tube bolts, straps and clamps. Thanks to a broad network of suppliers, TH-Silesia can procure <\/strong>these components cost-effectively <\/strong>and deliver them to both local customers and Bochumer Eisenh\u00fctte.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
