Innovative technology saves resources and minimizes environmental impact

Since 1851 when the Bochumer Eisenhütte was founded, the company has been well-known in the mining and tunnelling industry. In addition to the tried and tested products that ensure utmost safety in mining and tunnelling, new products from the rockbolting technology are presented at this year’s booth in hall C2.

Moreover, all visitors may obtain information on the extensive range of services that Bochumer Eisenhütte’s Steel Center has to offer. “With the technical possibilities of our Steel-Center such as hardening and tempering of long steel products and their complete processing, examination and packaging, we offer our customers the complete finishing of their products under one roof, says Arno Depping, Works Director of Bochumer Eisenhütte. The sophisticated heat treatment procedures can reduce up to 40 % of the weight of the steel products having the same load-bearing capacity. This technique is especially suitable for tubes and profiles that are used in construction machinery. Any weight reduction leads to lower fuel consumption and thus protects the environment.
